16 minutes away

The mill carries one of the last standing grist mills. The mill was down in 2025 but is expected to be operational in 2026. There is a gift shop you can visit on the main floor and a restaurant on the 3rd floor that is open for brunch/lunch and is known for their beans and cornbread. You'll also be next to the one-lane historical bridge that extends over War Eagle Creek.

Recommendation: Come to the annual War Eagle Craft Fair in October. There are close to a hundred vendors drawing in thousands of visitors. Let us know if you decide to go - we know a short cut to bypass the long lines!

12 minutes away

They offer cave tours, a crooked house, gem/fossil pan mining, a maze and a gift shop.

Note: Cave tours are seasonal (Open in March)

Recommendation: The maze was a lot of fun as a family ($6 pp). We made it a contest to see who could fill out their cards first. The grandkids also liked the gemstone pan mining. If you buy the bags to pan mine, I suggest they only do a handful at a time or that $17 a bag will fly by!

18 minutes away

They rescue survivors of the Exotic Animal Trade with a focus on big cats and bear, providing them a safe lifelong home with exceptional diets and proper care.

Recommendation: Free tours are offered with admission. You want to go when the animals are ready to eat so they are out and visible, instead of in their den. You can call and ask for those times.

The visitor's center offers a museum with artifacts and educational resources to demonstrate the history of NW Arkansas, particularly the Hobbs State Park area. It's free and very interesting. I would plan 1 hour to visit.

Recommendation: There is a bird watching area. It's interesting to watch and learn the different bird species. Watch the video to learn about the history of the area. There are also several multi trail systems nearby.
